Samantha Manewitz, MSW, RSW
Samantha Manewitz is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She obtained her Master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration in 2011 and is currently a PhD candidate at University of Toronto's Factor-Inwentash School of Social Work, with a graduate specialization in Sexual Diversity Studies. Samantha also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.
Samantha has been providing therapy since 2011. She is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and is working towards AASECT certification as a sex therapy supervisor. As a clinician, Samantha provides client centered and gender/sexuality affirming therapy to individuals, couples, polyamorous constellations, and non-monogamous configurations. In addition to working with sexual issues such as orgasm difficulties, sexual pain, and sexual function concerns. Samantha has experience working with trauma (including complex PTSD), LGBTQ issues (especially non-binary and other trans clients), consensual non-monogamy, and BDSM.
As an Educator, Samantha has trained mental health professionals, sex educators, and alt-sex communities on healthy communication, abuse prevention, sexual diversity, and neurodiversity. She is on the faculty of the Institute for Sexuality Education and Enlightenment, where she has presented on a broad range of topics related to sex therapy and sexual diversity.
Her research interests center on understanding and assessing abuse and non-consensual coercive control in BDSM.
Samantha is available for virtual sessions on Thursday afternoons and Sunday afternoons for in-person sessions on Thursday evenings.
