Moein Mehralian, MSc, Therapist In Training

Moein Mehralian is a therapist in training with a strong academic foundation in psychology, mental health, and human sexuality. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Isfahan, Iran (2020) and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychosexology from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy (2023). Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Health and Aging at McMaster University, Canada.

Moein takes an empathic, person-centered, non-judgmental, experiential, evidence-based approach to therapy. In his work with clients, he follows a sex-positive and pleasure-focused framework, recognizing that sexuality is deeply interconnected with other aspects of human identity and well-being.

Moein has completed specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFT-I), and Sex Therapy. While his primary therapeutic orientation is EFT, he adopts an integrative approach, incorporating Sex therapy techniques, Mindfulness, Systemic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.

He works with individuals and couples navigating challenges related to intimacy, relationships, and sexuality, as well as those seeking support for anxiety, depression, perfectionism, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. Moein helps clients address a range of sexual concerns, including differences in desire or interests between partners, difficulties with arousal and orgasm, sexual pain, and conditions such as erectile dysfunction, delayed ejaculation, and premature ejaculation. He also supports individuals struggling with compulsive sexual behaviors, distress related to pornography use, and the exploration of diverse sexual interests, including BDSM and kink. Additionally, he provides a safe and affirming space for clients to process anxiety, shame, or guilt surrounding sexuality and to heal from past sexual trauma.

With a strong background in clinical practice and research, Moein has conducted cross-cultural studies on sexual fantasies and is currently investigating sexual beliefs and satisfaction. His work is informed by the latest scientific research on sexuality, intimacy, and relationships.

Moein is an active member of professional organizations such as the Canadian Sex Research Forum (CSRF), the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), and the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).

Having lived on three continents, Moein understands the unique challenges of navigating intimacy, relationships, and mental health in cross-cultural contexts. He is dedicated to providing a warm, inclusive, and affirming space for clients of all backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, and relationship structures, fostering a non-judgmental and collaborative therapeutic experience.

Moein offers therapy sessions in English and Farsi (Persian) under the supervision of Dr. Morag Yule, C. Psych. He is available for virtual sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11 AM to 8 PM.
